After photographing hundreds of large weddings over the last decade, I started to grow with my couples to the next phase of life, cherishing family as one of life’s most precious gifts.

My journey has reached a point where I know in my heart that my calling is to create art from your motherhood journey. I am a hybrid film and digital photographer in order to deliver the most timeless images.

Everything you need to know about working together on your fine art motherhood & family portraits.

MOTHERHOOD & FAMILy

My style is organic, artful, and creates timeless imagery documenting the bond of your family. I started photographing on film 20 years ago, and my goal is to provide you with the look and feel of a film portrait, even when I’m photographing from my digital camera.

I truly believe that motherhood is the hardest, yet most rewarding gift and there is nothing more pressing than documenting that journey before the feeling of nostalgia sets in.

These images will adorn your walls with meaningful pieces of your life that you will want to hold onto forever.

I am so excited to offer these fine art sessions ANYWHERE in the U.S., U.K., or Europe.  Please inquire about special destination pricing.

Outdoor sessions take place during the week in the evenings, about an hour and a half before sunset. This allows for the best light possible. Local sessions are typically done at your choice between several locations: Rockwood Hall in Westchester, Waveny Park in New Canaan, CT, Bartlett Arboretum in Stamford, or Sherwood Island Park in Westport, CT.

A:

Where and when do sessions take place?

q:

The sooner the better! I am booking out 3-6 months in advance for motherhood and family sessions.

A:

How far in advance should we book?

q:

A typical session is one hour in length. It gives us enough time to get acquainted, get your family comfortable, and have enough relaxed time in between photographs to get the absolute best photos from your portrait session.

A:

How long is a session?

q:

Motherhood photography seeks to take a documentary approach to preserving the most beautiful moments of your authentic motherhood journey. It is less “posed” feeling, and more authentic, artistic, and true to the bond you have with your family. It celebrates your role so that you can look back on your images and remember a time of beauty, amidst what can sometimes feel like a stressful period of life. Motherhood photographs can be maternity portraits, family sessions, or a session alone with you and your children.

FAQ

I have a 48-hour rule; we will assess two days in advance to keep the session or reschedule if it is calling for more than 40% chance of rain during your session time. This will allow you to reschedule your hair and makeup appointments without penalty. Clouds are definitely OK; torrential downpours not so much.

A:

What happens if it rains?

q:

Have no fear; every session booked comes with the Tesora Style Guide, a complimentary manual to help you make the most beautiful photos from your session. It includes places to shop, color schemes, and my highest recommended hair and makeup artists.

A:

What should we wear?

q:

I do a limited number of in-home newborn sessions each year between November and April on Saturday mornings at 11:30am. The remainder of the year on Saturdays are reserved for micro wedding and elopement clients.

A:

Do you do in-home newborn sessions?

q:

I do! Please feel free to inquire about a destination motherhood session and travel fees. Pro tip: if your friends book a destination session in conjunction with you, the travel fee will be reduced.

A:

Do you travel and do destination sessions?

q:

Yes! I do a limited number of pop-up motherhood events every year. Want to be the first to know about them? Make sure you get on my mailing list!

A:

Do you do mini sessions?

q:

It will take about three weeks for your gallery to be delivered to your inbox. You will be able to choose your favorite images, or purchase the entire gallery. No strings attached; it’s totally up to you!

A:

How long does it take to get our photos?

q:

I cannot stress this enough: the golden hour is the key to beautiful images! Planning ahead for a little later bedtime will be so worth it to you in the long run. We will do everything we can to make sure we have happy campers!

A:

What if a session interferes with our usual bedtime?

q:

That is PERFECT. Kids shouldn’t sit still for long periods of time. My artistry seeks to document your bond and your childrens’ personalities, and not do so many posed, unnatural prompts.
