After spending the last decade photographing hundreds of large, high-end luxury wedding events, my vision for a wedding day has shifted. Born out of 2020 and the inability to gather in large groups, I started photographing small, intimate micro weddings and elopements, and never looked back.  Having the experience of nearly a decade of higher stress weddings and being a published wedding photographer, I have literally seen it all.  I'm excitedly embracing this smaller genre of wedding photography in this new season.

Everything you need to know about working together to document your intimate wedding day coverage.

Micro Weddings

There is just something about a small wedding, inclusive of only the most important people in your lives that truly recognizes that it’s about marriage, and not just a wedding day.

Looking back on your wedding day in 50 years, you won’t remember what type of florals you chose, but you’ll remember how you felt, and the people around you celebrating your love for one another. My dream wedding to photograph is full of love, intentional details, and a ton of joy.

The moment my now husband and I spoke to her we felt like we had known her for years. She is kind, warm and instantly made us feel comfortable with her. On the day of our wedding she was so calm and reassuring which is so important during the morning getting ready and staying on time and wrangling our families for group photos! By the end of the night we felt like she was part of our family!

I have a full engagement session style guide to help prepare for your session. It includes what to wear, color schemes, where to shop, and the best hair and makeup vendors in the area.

A:

What should we wear to our engagement session IF WE BOOK ONE?

q:

I’ve had the pleasure of photographing several weddings in torrential downpours, and came out flourishing on the other side! We cannot predict the weather, but we CAN be prepared for it. Lots of clear umbrellas, extra hairspray, and a positive attitude will get us through anything.

A:

What happens if it rains?

q:

YES, for DESTINATION weddings only located in the U.K. and Europe. After a decade of photographing large weddings in the New York City area, I'm only accepting small, micro weddings and elopements in the tri-state area. For micro or full weddings located abroad, I am offering special incentive pricing for 2024.

A:

Do you still do large weddings?

q:

I always count backwards from the cake cutting (if you’re doing that!), which is typically about two hours into your reception, to the beginning of the day (the end of hair and makeup). I book anywhere between one and eight hours of coverage for a wedding day. This is something we can discuss during our first consultation together.

A:

How much coverage do I need?

q:

FAQ

I photograph weddings that have 30 guests or less. There is just something about a smaller, intimate group that truly makes a day special in a different kind of way.

A:

How many guests constitutes a “micro” wedding?

q:

I photograph engagement sessions during the week ONLY, and they take place about an hour and a half before sunset, during golden hour. I have several amazing locations to choose from for this special session.

A:

When and where would we do our engagement session IF WE BOOK ONE?

q:

A full digital gallery takes 8-12 weeks, and you will receive approximately 75 images per hour of photography. I deliver all images in color, and about 10% of those also will be delivered in black and white. Some images just really lend themselves to black and white processing.

A:

When will our images be ready, and how many images can I expect?

q:

I am booking out about 6-12 months at this point.

A:

How far in advance should we book you?

q:

In my opinion, the most important thing is working together on the timeline, and having your family shot list completed ahead of time. After nearly a decade of experience, I’ve seen it all and really help you prepare these things. Once these huge organizational pieces are completed, you can relax and enjoy your big day.

A:

What is the most important thing about preparing for my wedding day?

q:

ALL weddings over four hours have a second photographer included. For coverage under four hours, you absolutely have the option to include a second photographer as an add-on service. I think a second photographer is extremely important to adding to the imagery of the day.

A:

Do you have a second photographer?

q:

I know large weddings like the back of my hand, and micro weddings are far less cookie-cutter in nature. They’re real, raw and intimate in a way that a large wedding can’t be. My own brother had a micro wedding during 2020, and it was one of the best days of all of our lives. I’ll never forget spending the day with 15 people and celebrating real and wonderful love.

A:

Why do you love being a micro wedding photographer?
