A Year in Review: 2015

Preparing for this blog post was one of the most surreal things I have done this year.  It forced me to sift through what I have accomplished from the beginning of 2015 to this point, and I was so overwhelmed with what I saw.  It’s very difficult as a photographer to take a fresh look from the outside; sometimes there’s a feeling of being all over the place instead of being cohesive.  But then I took a step back and saw this.  The collage below is just a glimpse of what this year has been like for me.  I’ve had the honor of capturing real, true love; the authentic, unconditional love that is pure magic. Every single person I have photographed this year has given me an incredible gift, letting me into their lives and wanting me to be the one to capture a moment in their life to keep a little piece of that moment forever.

As I enter 2016, I can’t help but be proud of the hard work I’ve poured into this dream.  At the same time, I am overwhelmed with excitement for my 2016 weddings, engagements, and anniversary sessions. I don’t know when I crossed the line, but a member of my family told me recently that seeing me as a photographer was the most natural thing he had ever seen me do.  “It’s like you were born to do this.”
And as the year ends, here is what I know:  I capture feelings. Moments. Things you can’t touch. Preserving that second in time so that when you return to it later on, you feel those same feelings all over again.  There is no greater gift than that.

Happy New Year, everyone.
