They say it’s good luck when it rains on your wedding day. The thing is, these two don’t need luck; they have all they need in their love for one another as they begin their journey as husband and wife. For me, Bridget and Mike’s Latitude 41 wedding at Mystic Seaport will always be a day I never forget. Imagine the scene: a May day, except I’m wearing my winter coat and sporting my trusty rain boots, with THREE umbrellas in tow. When I say BUCKETS of rain, I mean it. But you know what made that day incredible? Being able to spend it with Bridget and Mike. Most couples would be upset about the weather, but these two were as joyous as could be. At one point, our team was stuck under a canopy with them and the laughs were non-stop. After photographing in this weather, I am confident that I can do ANYTHING!
I am so thankful for Bridget, Mike and their family and friends for welcoming us for their most important day. Witnessing a love like theirs, one that is so thoughtful, fun, and natural was what my heart needed in that moment. Their ceremony overlooking the water was one I’ll always remember, with Mike tearing up as his bride walked down the aisle, and the pounding of the rain getting stronger at the exact moment that their officiant announced them to be husband and wife. Also, I’d be remiss if I didn’t shout out the EPIC dancing and band at their reception- even I was breaking it down in the corner at one point! (Seriously, though).
Bridget and Mike, from the bottom of our hearts, cheers to you both. We are lucky to call you friends and can’t wait to hear about your Hawaiian honeymoon!
