Central Park Engagement | Michelle & Gus

Engagement

When I met Michelle and Gus, it was like I had known them my entire life. You know when you just “click” with people in that way? I often feel this way about the wonderful people I meet while pursuing this dream job, and this summer evening in Central Park was no exception. My sister, Elizabeth, accompanied me and did such a fantastic job assisting (evening rowing a boat at one point!), and she loved these two as well.

The story of Michelle and Gus is a long time coming. They knew each other growing up, and finally decided to give it a shot. Their love has grown, and their foundation is especially strong. You can tell from spending five minutes with these two that they compliment each other beautifully, and are the best of friends. When it came time for Gus to propose, he and Michelle were on a visit to Maine, touring lighthouses and exploring that little part of the world. Gus completely surprised Michelle with his proposal before dinner one night, and she had no idea it was coming at that moment.

The two are planning a destination wedding (they aren’t sure which destination yet, but it’s going to be AMAZING!) for next summer with their families and friends. I am so excited for them as they continue this journey together.

For their engagement portraits, we ventured to Belvedere Castle in Central Park, then headed over to the Boathouse and even jumped into a boat for a bit!  They ended the evening with a wine picnic near the iconic backdrop fountain of the Bethesda Fountain.  Here are just a few favorites.
