Destination Newborn and Motherhood Portraits

Motherhood

I’ve started to set an intention recently to be able to travel to document motherhood through the art of photography. I love being local, but travel runs deep through my soul. It makes me feel alive to see and experience new places and people. It confirms that the bubble that we can sometimes get caught up in is worth leaving for a short period of time to gain some perspective. While taking the leap to attend the Fount Collective Workshop in Santa Rosa Beach, FL, I was given the opportunity to meet and connect with Augusta and her two little ones for their destination newborn and motherhood portraits.

Rather than be inside for this session, I got to experience the joy of photographing destination newborn and motherhood portraits. I honestly loved the idea of an outdoor session even more than indoor newborn portraits and have been encouraging my clients in the warmer months to consider such a beautiful type of motherhood photography.

These photos were taken at Eden Gardens State Park, which was one of the most beautiful parks I’d ever seen in real life. Another reason to travel is to see landscapes that aren’t native to the northeast. This session provided so much inspiration, I can’t even explain it.  Also, If you’re in the Santa Rosa Beach area, I highly recommend Molly Stilley for hair and makeup; her work was organic and just so beautiful. The clothing is all from Doen, another wonderful place when searching to outfit everyone for a motherhood session. I’m so excited to bring this inspiration back to the northeast, but also to travel again more soon.

Carolyn of Tesora Photography is a New York City, CT & Hudson Valley fine art motherhood photographer. Now serving destination clients.
