Manhattan Engagement: Jen & Joe

Engagement, Portrait

There are so many aspects of what makes a couple great. Recipes for “success” can include having similar values, shared interests, family, goals, and genuine care and love for the other person. After spending time with Jen and Joe, it is clear that they not only exude some of these qualities, but in fact display ALL of these qualities. When Jen told me that she had met someone, I held my breath, wishing as anyone would do, for someone deserving of my dear friend’s love. It took me about 90 seconds after meeting Joe to know that she had truly met the person that would return the thoughtful, genuine love that she gives out on a daily basis. I remember thinking that I could not believe how loving Joe was toward Jen, even in the beginning. It blew my mind and made me look at the world in an even better light.

For their engagement session, we took the train into Manhattan with a plan to explore several parts of the City. We hit Grand Central, the iconic New York City Public Library, Washington Square Park and the West Village, and finally ended at Madison Square Park. (It was a lot to pack into one session, but when you plan it right, the result can be overwhelmingly AWESOME!). Jen and Joe, I look to your relationship as an example of love to have in my own life. You are both thoughtful, encouraging, and compassionate toward each other and I am blessed to have you both. I had such a wonderful time photographing your engagement portraits and I hope you can cherish these memories for years to come.
